Bernard learned how to become a professional money manager at Citibank. There, he refined his ability of maintaining a diverse investment portfolio, assessing life insurance risk, managing cash assets, mastering credit and banking challenges, and how to grow a business using a carefully detailed strategy with regular assessments. He also partnered with some of San Francisco’s businesses teaming up with their Human Resources managers to offer bank services to their employees (financial seminars and discounts). Some of the companies Bernard worked with were Prudential, Saks Fifth Avenue, Deutsche Bank, Barclays Global Investors, Aqua Restaurant, Victoria’s Secret, Macy’s, Consumer Credit Counseling of San Francisco, Laguna Honda Hospital, 24 Hour Fitness, Jewish Family Center of San Francisco, and San Francisco State University, to name a few. In addition, Bernard began volunteering in 1996 with Women and Community Service (WICS), a non-profit that helps families living in poverty and has been recognized nationally for his work.
